The Style Showdown is a whole new gameplay mode within Dress To Impress, which has been teased since the beginning of January.
It was supposed to launch on February 8th, as part of the Valentine’s Update, only for it to be delayed by a week, and announced to launch on February 15th.
Sadly, the launch was cancelled a second time (with only one day’s notice), but the DTI team have given us a brand new launch date.
What Even Is The Dress To Impress Style Showdown?
Described as being the ultimate game-mode of fashion survival, Style Showdown is a completely new way to play Dress To Impress, with a brand new runway, new voting system, and even a new map for getting dressed in.
It’s said to be a mix of RuPaul’s Drag Race and the TV show Survivor, with a fashion twist.
Players will be taking part in competitions with other players, and you’ll dress up for a particular theme, and at the end of the round, the other players get to choose their top 3 favorites.
Contestants will then stand above rings on the floor, which are trap doors, and whoever is voted out, will fall through the ring and leaves the competition for having the least-liked outfit from the remaining contestant line-up.
We’ve seen a sneak peek of four gameplay modes; Double Elimination, Immunity Idol, Vote Reveal and Speed Round, which are all features within the game.
Zac was quizzed in the Discord channel on how this feature works, and once a player has been eliminated, can they dress up in the next round?
Zac said “in regular DTI, the whole server does every single theme.. but for style showdown it’s about voting out your least favorite outfits and competing till it’s one winner”.
