Everyone is talking about the upcoming DTI Valentine’s Day update, and the team has surprised us all today, by revealing some exciting new additions coming to the game.
Separate to the DTI V-Day update, the team are allowing us to celebrate the Lunar New Year with Dress To Impress, and launches this Saturday, January 25th.

What Is Lunar New Year?
Lunar New Year for 2025, is January 29th (Wednesday) and it changes date every year, as the date of the Chinese New Year is determined by the lunar calendar.
Lunar New Year is a huge annual celebration that follows the lunar calendar instead of the regular calendar.
It’s massive in places like China, Vietnam, Korea, and other Asian countries, but each culture celebrates it a bit differently.
Basically, it marks the first new moon of the year – unlike our January 1st which is just a set date.
People go all out with red decorations (it’s considered lucky), feast with their families, and give out red envelopes with money to kids.
There are usually tons of fireworks, lion dances, and special foods that are supposed to bring good fortune.
Dress To Impress posted in their Discord with two images, and the following caption;

In the two photos, we can see traditional Chinese outfits on both feminine and masculine bodies, on a red background.
Zac then officially confirmed the Lunar New Year update;
“Celebrate Lunar New Year with us. Stay on the lookout for the Lunar New Year Item Codes!”
Then, Zac confirmed it’ll just be a small update until the Valentines Update.
We saw Dress To Impress feature more cultural items with the launch of the Chiton (Halloween Quest prize) and the Desi jewelry (Winter update), and Owen (Motoprincess) mentioned that he wanted to explore more cultural items within DTI.
The Dress To Impress Lunar New Year Update launches this Saturday, January 25th at at 8am PST with three limited time codes.
We are going to be getting some traditional Chinese clothing items, but we’re also going to be getting some stunning jewelry and accessory pieces too.
What Are The Dress To Impress Lunar New Year Update Codes?
The three codes for the update are:
- LNY2025: Cheongsam & Tang
- YEAROFTHESNAKE: Snake jewelry items
- HAPPYNEWYEAR: Hanfu
When you redeem the code LNY2025, you get two items for the one code.
You receive the Cheongsam (shown above), also known as the qipao and sometimes referred to as the mandarin gown.
It is one gown, but there are three toggles, allowing you to choose how you want the garment to be worn – plus all three toggles have a different pattern, so it feels like three different dresses.
You cannot change the fabric of the Cheongsam, but you can change the color.
The toggles are numbered; 1, 2 and 3.
Toggle one is a snake print with a leg slit on the left leg, and by default, the dress is a deep red light silk with a white snake pattern, and white knot fastenings on the leg slit.
Toggle two is an intricate floral pattern, with a leg slit on both legs, with a deep red slight silk and white floral pattern and white knot fastenings.
Toggle three is a more heavily decorated version, with a leg slit on the leg slit, with an oriental botanical design. The dress is a red light silk with white pattern, and white fastenings.
As well as receiving the Cheongsam for code LNY2025, you will also receive the Tang, which is a type of traditional Chinese suit.
This suit can only be worn by the male bodies (and the Cheongsam can only be worn by female bodies).
The Tang is a suit jacket (there are no trousers), and it comes with three toggles (1, 2 and 3).
For toggle 1 you get the closed long-sleeved jacket in a deep red color with a gray snake pattern all over, and gray knot fastenings.
Toggle 2 is a short-sleeved jacket which is slightly opened with an undershirt. It’s a deep red color with a grey botanical design on the front, with gray knot fastenings.
Then, toggle 3 is a sleeveless version of the jacket, and it is completely open with a red satin color, grey floral design, gray knot fastenings and white undershirt.
Just like the Cheongsam, you cannot change the fabrics of the Tang, but you can change the colors of the jacket, the overlay pattern and the knot fastenings.
2025 is the Year Of The Snake, and when you enter the code YEAROFTHESNAKE, you get three items all-in-one, which is amazing.
The first of the three items is a silver, metal snake choker necklace.
The snake has a scale texture effect, and is wrapped around the neck several times before hanging down at the front of the neck.
We have two toggle options (toggle 1 and toggle 2), and toggle one gives you the snake necklace without a pendant, and toggle two gives you the necklace with a pendant.
By default, the necklace is without the pendant, but toggle two puts a pretty pendant underneath the snake head.
You cannot change the materials, but we can change the color of the snake, and the color of the pendant.
The second item you’ll receive with the code YEAROFTHESNAKE, is a pair of snake metal hair clips.
These hair clips are wrapped around the sides of the head. They don’t wrap all the way around the head, but they’re a lot longer than I thought they would be.
You don’t get any toggles for these hair clips, but we can change the color of the metal.
My favorite item from the snake trio are these snake wrap cuffs.
They look amazing, with the snake wrapped around the wrists, but there are three toggles (low, high and both).
This is the low toggle, with the snakes wrapped around the wrists, with the snake head on the back of the hands.
This is the high toggle, where you get the silver metal snakes wrapped around the top of the arms, like arm cuffs. They are longer snakes when worn on the upper arm, compared to the snakes on the forearm.
The final toggle for the snake cuffs is “both” and this will give you snakes wrapped around your forearms, and your upper arms for a double cuff look.
You cannot change the fabric of these cuffs, but we can change the colors of the cuffs.
The last item for the DTI Lunar New Year update is yours when you use the code HAPPYNEWYEAR.
This is the only item that wasn’t sneak peeked before the update, but you get a Hanfu with this code, which only works on female bodies.
A Hanfu consists of a paofu robe, or a ru jacket worn as the upper garment with a qun skirt commonly worn as the lower garment.
It’s a beautiful silk wrap dress with a full skirt, a silk wrap belt and wide cuffs.
There’s a stunning oriental pattern on the silk cuffs, which also appears on the edging of Hanfu.
I absolutely love this item, but there are no toggles.
By default, the Hanfu is a deep red (#8c2624), with champagne gold accents (#ffd4ad), a peach tie belt (#ffac87), rose gold waist band (#e7a9a8) and champagne patterned edge on the cuffs and neckline (#f2d1a5).
You cannot change the fabric of any of the elements of the Hanfu, but you change all five colors of the dress, to customize it.
Do We Need Currency For The Dress To Impress Lunar New Year Update?
People were worrying that we might need to farm in-game currency to buy the new Lunar New Year update items because we did need currency to purchase the Sparkling Resolution Dress.
Well, Zac has given us all an answer, so we can prepare for this newest update.
“For Lunar New Year all items will be codes ❤ we didn’t feel it was ok making you guys pay for items!”
So, you do not need any in-game currency to buy the new things in the DTI Lunar New Year update – it’s all free.
How Long Are The Three Dress To Impress Lunar New Year Update Codes Live For?
We will be getting three Lunar New Year codes, and the Dress To Impress Lunar New Year codes will be limited time codes.
The three new LNY codes will only be available between Saturday 25th January through to Saturday 1st of February (the whole Lunar New Year week), so make sure you redeem these codes ASAP, so you don’t miss out.
First in the Dress To Impress Lunar New Year Update are these silver, metal snake wrap bracelet cuffs.
They wrap around the forearm and wrist, with the heads of the snakes on the back of the palms.
These are going to be so versatile, and will work for so many themes, and I can imagine people using them as handcuffs or ivy for Poison Ivy cosplay.
Next, we have these amazing silver, metal snake hair clips.
It’s a set of two hair clips, and wow we needed some sort of non-bow hair clips.
They look so pretty, and I wonder if we will be able to toggle them to be one clip or two? Or will we have to have them both?
Imagine how good they’d be for Greek Goddess or Greek Mythology themes.
We can also see the model with ears – without wearing earrings, so could this be a hint that we are finally going to get ears without having to wear earrings?
The last of the DTI Lunar New Year accessories is this amazing, silver metal snake choker necklace.
The snake wraps around the neck, and has a large faceted jewel pendant.
It’s so different from anything we have in the game, and I love it so much.
Now onto the new clothes…
In the above photo, we can see three masculine bodies wearing some new black pants, which I don’t believe are in the game right now.
Then, the three masculine bodies are wearing traditional Chinese jackets known as “Tang suits” or “Tangzhuang” (唐装).
The image shows three different designs of these formal garments featuring:
- A light/silver colored jacket with floral embroidery
- A bronze/golden colored jacket with traditional Chinese frog button closures (the decorative knot buttons) and floral/dragon patterns
- A deep red/burgundy jacket with brocade-style patterns
These are all code items, and we can see the jackets are being worn both open and closed with the ‘Chinese Frog’ button closures, with white undershirts.
We can also see that the first jacket has a smooth finish, whilst the second and third has a raised texture to the silk effect.
Then, we have three feminine bodies wearing traditional Chinese dresses known as “Qipao” or “Cheongsam” (旗袍).
We can see the following designs;
- A white/blue Qipao with delicate blue floral patterns and vine motifs
- A red Qipao with gold phoenix and floral embroidery (the phoenix is a traditional Chinese symbol often used in formal wear)
- A deep green/teal Qipao with white floral patterns
Each dress features the characteristic high collar, form-fitting silhouette, and side slits that are typical of Qipao design.
They also showcase traditional Chinese elements through their embroidery and patterns.
We can see that two of the Qipao dresses have one single slit on the leg, whereas one of the dresses (the white and blue one) has a double slit on the legs.
Will the codes that come on the lunar year update be limited and removed when the valentines update comes?

Hi Had, they haven’t said if the codes will be limited BUT as the new year update has limited codes, and this is another new year update, I think they could possibly be limited too? It would make sense, but perhaps they’ll be limited until the Lunar New Year, which is January 29th.
