The huge Dress To Impress Valentine’s Day Update is launching this Saturday (February 8th), and we have so much newness coming our way.
It’s going to be the biggest update since their Halloween update, and whilst Umoyae confirmed it wouldn’t be bigger than the Halloween update, it’s still going to be super exciting, and one of most exciting parts of the update, is the completely new map design.
The DTI map (the area where all the clothes and accessories are set up, and you walk around to make your outfits) gets a rejig now and then, to accommodate the new seasonal items, and to make improvements to reduce lag.
Whenever there’s a redesign, it tends to be a couple of sections that change, but for the DTI Valentine’s update, they are changing the entire map for both non-VIP and also VIP, which is very exciting, and it looks completely different from any map designs we’ve seen previously.
There’s so much newness coming in the Valentine’s Day update (find every feature in the update here), like these for example:
- New Valentine’s Day Quest with new Lana Lore
- New game mode called “Style Showdown”, which is inspired by Ru Paul’s Drag Race
- New runway
- New clothing and accessories
- New patterns
- New poses
- New makeup looks
- New hairstyles
- Over 200 news themes
But, the new map is potentially one of the biggest new features within the update, as the non-VIP and VIP rooms have been completely transformed, reorganized and streamlined for a lag-free experience.
We are all going to have to re-learn the map, and remember where everything has moved to.
So, once the update drops, I’d recommend playing in Freeplay for a while, so you can get used to the new set-up, before playing any rounds, so you don’t waste time running around trying to find everything when you’re in a timed round.
The new map has moved everything to be better organized. We are going to have all the accessories together, instead of being spread out right now.
For example, the summer update items (like the choker and headpiece chains) are near the hats, and the rest of the jewelry is on the other side of the map. Plus the winter update Indian jewelry is in the winter update stand.
In the above photo, we can see the head chains are now (rightfully) with the earrings, necklaces and the Indian jewelry too.
Also, look at all those empty shelves and spaces, ready for more new stuff in the future.
Look how organized the hat and headwear section looks! All the hats, flowers, bows, hair accessories and earmuffs.
It makes it so much easier to see all the items in a condensed area, without being spread out across the map.
I just love the attention to detail, with the little decorations on the corners of the stands.
Here’s a sneak peek of the new VIP room, and wow, it is beautiful.
We can see three archways, and that leads to the VIP dressing room, and possibly the hair salon and makeup chairs?
The VIP room also had the two layer circular stage, just like non-VIP, so I reckon this will be where the seasonal items will go (like the Valentines stuff).
We always used to have a tiered circular stage area in the non-VIP room, where the Brat stuff was placed during the Charli XCX update, but they removed the stage once the update was over.
You can see a bit more of the new, much-larger VIP room in this photo, with the tops being recolored for the defaults, so everything isn’t just white anymore.
I love how spaced out everything is. Sometimes VIP feels so crowded, especially when playing in VIP servers, and players are all standing in the same place, but this is so much better.
In this photo, you can see the accessories and skirts, and the belts and wings. Again, so nicely spaced out without having to walk too far to find everything.
I just feel like the placement of everything makes sense. Whilst it will take us a little while to re-learn where everything is again, but I think once that’s over, it’ll make finding items so much easier during the rounds, and I am so excited to see the brand-new map on Saturday (and all the other super cool stuff too).
